Gordon MacDonald

Dr Gordon MacDonaldDr Gordon MacDonald is a seasoned Marathon runner. He has run to support the work of Mission Without Borders since 2005. He calmly ran the London Marathon last year for Mission Without Borders. ‘I felt I was doing quite well, until a Womble ran past me’, he joked.
While others around him were dropping in the heat (26°C – the hottest London Marathon so far), Gordon drenched himself with bottled water every mile and every fourth mile drank a bottle. When we met up with him at the end of the race, he was calm, cool and collected. Using an MP3 player, he was encouraged by the songs of praise of Noel Richards. As he sang along, Gordon could not forget the reason he was running the marathon and praised God for the ability to raise money this way.
Having children of their own, Gordon and his wife Laura want to help children who do not have loving parents. ‘We and our children take so much for granted.’ Isn’t that true for all of us? Thank God for all our blessings. He gives us different abilities to help those so less fortunate than ourselves. For some, it’s prayer, others help financially. For some he gives them the ability to run 26 miles in the stuffy heat of London. Thank you Gordon.
