Thousands of Bibles given away: help to give more

Mission Without Borders has given away 1,100 Bibles in Romania to children and adults in schools, churches, companies, banks and police. The mayor of Ciumeghiu, Gheorghe Huple, was given his Bible at the same time as local police officers. With joy he exclaimed: ‘It is a blessing for every public institution. The Word of God must govern the administrative business of all Romania’s regions. Then we will have more wisdom and will pay more attention to our neighbours and their needs.’

Jubilee thanksgiving appeal MWB 50 Years of Faithfully Reaching People for Christ

We’re continuing to celebrate 50 years since Mission Without Borders was founded by giving away a million Bibles. Over fifty years ago, communism was the biggest barrier for people owning a Bible. Today, the barriers are poverty and having a Bible in your own language.

The cost of a Bible   Each bible costs £4 to be printed, transported and delivered.

From communist persecution to faith today
During the Cold War (1947–1991), Christians behind the Iron Curtain were persecuted for their faith. One elderly lady from Moldova recalls that it was almost impossible to get a Bible. People would copy out scripture to memorise and secretly hand it on to others. So fifty years ago faith was kept alive.
Tsevtomira and Her BibleTsvetomira longed to have a Bible. Today, because of poverty, most people in the countries where MWB works can only dream of having a Bible of their own. MWB’s jubilee celebration continues to give many like Tsvetomira their own Bibles. It’s a massive undertaking, but so crucial.

‘This is a very timely project for our very needy nation. There is a hunger for the Bible.’
President, Bulgarian Evangelical Alliance
