The Stavila family

Pavel and Ana are hardworking. But no matter how hard they tried, their life never got better. Pavel had to leave his family and go to Russia to find work.

The Stavilas live in three rooms, heated by a wood fire. The floor is bare earth with little to cover it. They have no bathroom; only an outside toilet. The whole family’s health was poor due to malnutrition and bad sanitation. Daily, they struggled to find their next meal.

But since Mission Without Borders became involved with Pavel, Ana and their children, life has changed.

They now have sponsors who support and pray for them. Through Mission Without Borders’ Family-to-Family scheme the Stavilas have received food, medicine and clothing. The Stavilas were delighted, saying ’Thank you for everything you do for us and for the wonderful gifts you have sent. Let God give you His peace and thorough blessings.’Stavila children now healthy and happy

One day, their long-hoped for dream came true. Some of their sponsors made it possible for the Stavilas to have a tractor!

They’d always wanted to grown their own crops, so the family set to work straightaway. They planted corn, sunflowers, wheat and alfalfa to feed their poultry and cattle. They planted grapes to sell and sold some livestock too. This meant they had the money to install gas pipes into their home. Pavel’s next priority was to dig a well to provide water for his family and for a vegetable garden.

Today despair is replaced by health and hope.

Now, the Stavilas farm more than enough to feed themselves. They have meat, dairy products and vegetables. And they have extra which they sell or give to others who are in need - just as they used to be. The Stavila family’s life has completely changed.

You too can change a family’s life.
