The family unit forms us for the rest of our lives.   It is where we should be nutured and learn love and kindness.

Sadly for thousands of families in Eastern Europe, the reality is very different.  The high levels of unemployment and abject poverty lead to despair.   Without hope there often seems little point in anything.   In turn, thousands of children are abandoned to institutions and never live in a family again.

It is because we believe that the family is very precious that Mission Without Borders introduced its Family sponsorship scheme.   Through this families receive material, social and pastoral help.   We work with each individual family, keeping them together and helping them to become self-reliant.

Thousands of other families are helped with deliveries of food, medicines and clothing.  In addition our Mother Care project helps provide all the expectant mother needs for before, during and after the birth of her baby.   Our community centres offer hot meals, good caring company and the opportunity to learn skills to improve their chances of finding work.
